Американский журнал Time назвал президента России Владимира Путина человеком года. Второе место в рейтинге журнала занял лауреат Нобелевской премии мира за 2007 год Альберт Гор, третье - писательница Джоан Роулинг, автор книг о Гарри Поттере, четвертое - председатель КНР Ху Цзиньтао, пятое - командующий американскими войсками в Ираке генерал Дэвид Петрэус.

"Пожертвовав принципами, которые ценят свободные народы, он вернул Россию в число держав, управляющих миром", - так звучит формулировка, с которой Time присвоил Путину это звание. Сover-story журнала озаглавлена "Choosing Order Before Freedom", что можно примерно перевести "Когда порядок важнее свободы".

"Если Россию ожидает провал, то это означает провал всего мира в XXI веке. Если же Россию ждет успех, то во многом этим успехом она будет обязана одному человеку - Владимиру Владимировичу Путину", - говорится в статье Time.

А недавно, кажется в 2000 и 2004, если память мне не изменяет, человеком года был назван Джордж Буш. Это за несколько месяцев до того, как он начал противозаконное вторжение в Ирак. Так что все ясно с этим престижным званием.

Путина выбрали правильно. Просто вспомните, что происходило в России до того, как он пришел к власти. Фактически он спас Россию. Посмотрите, что Буш и компания делают с миром. Мы нуждаемся во второй сверхдержаве, которая бы восстановила баланс в мире. Думаете, США начали бы войну в Ираке, если бы на планете была страна, способная померяться с ними силами? Миру нужна сильная Россия, иначе США и дальше будут развязывать войну по всему миру.

the other day there was a documentary film about Putin on CNN. It was called "Tsar Putin".

I really think if Putin had not been that much motherflower nationalist, there would not be skinheads and such an extremely negative attitude towards uzbeks in Russia.
