    Navruz at IU

My warmest greetings to all my countrymen.
I am writing this letter to see if you would be interested to participate in upcoming Navruz Festival, to be held at Indiana University (Bloomington) on 24th of March.
This festival will be held by Navruz Students Association of IU, whose members represent countries of Central Asia and Azeirbadjan. Each country will make its own contribution to the 1hr. 30 minute show, which will then be followed by presentation of cultural displays from each participating country (all Central Asian republics are participating, including Azeirbadjan and Turkey), and distribution of ethnic/traditional food. The main purpose of this festival is to raise cultural awareness about our region and people, especially among young american students. The festival is open door and we anticipate an audience of 300 to 400 people.
The role of Uzbeks in this event is great. The fact that we don't have a long program (we, Uzbeks, will be able to put max. of 3
performances) pushes us to bring in the best Uzbek flavor into this
festival. Therefore, we need individuals who possess skills and talent in either playing Uzbek traditional instruments or dancing (I mean really good at it, e.g. Horazm dance), and who would be willing to participate in this event. I, all other Uzbeks of IU, and members of Navruz Students Association would highly appreciate if these individuals could show their talets in the upcoming event. We also invite all others to come and enjoy Navruz at Indiana University.
People who are interested to participate, please let me know. We have some funds and may be able to cover some (or all) of transportation expenses (in most cost effective manner though). Staying would be no problem.
Everybody else is more than welcome to join us for Navruz.

    Thanks to all,

    Alisher Zufarov
President of NSA of Indiana University

    * It is important to mention that we have limited funds and have a limited program.
** One more thing, one of Uzbeks at IU is going to sing. We thought "Maftun bo'ldim" (a movie song) would be good, but we don't have the lyrics. Could anyone help us out with finding this lyrics, or maybe suggest another song of this sort (popular and with lyrics).
